Help Brighten the Holidays for Youth at Covenant House Florida
Residents of Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and the surrounding areas have an opportunity to make this holiday season extra special for young people who are experiencing homelessness. Covenant House Florida (CHF) is asking our local communities and beyond to donate much needed items for youth served by one of two CHF locations: the Fort Lauderdale Safe Haven and the Orlando Resource Center.
“By donating gifts such as clothing, personal care items, and other essentials, you can help bring joy and warmth to those who need it most,” says CHF CEO Reneé Trincanello. “Your generosity will provide a sense of hope and belonging to the young people we serve.”
Sleep Out raises awareness about Florida’s homeless youth
On November 21st, Covenant House Florida (CHF) hosted their 12th Annual Sleep Out to shine a light on the crisis of youth homelessness. Supporters gathered at the safe haven in Fort Lauderdale for an evening of inspiring youth stories and meaningful conversations with experts. After a symbolic candlelight vigil to show solidarity with young people who face homelessness, the group slept just outside the safe haven.

CITY Furniture’s 27th Annual Kevin Koenig Memorial Covenant House Cup and Vendor Conference raised $500,000 for Covenant House Florida despite inclement weather from hurricane Nicole that affected major planned events. Five decades ago, City Furniture's founder Kevin Koenig made Covenant House Florida his first-ever charitable partner. Today, City Furniture continues to honor his legacy, and thanks to its partners who share his passion for giving back, Covenant House is able to provide safety and hope to homeless and at-risk youth, helping them to transform their lives and put them on the path to independence.
Sleep Out! One Purpose, One Night
The Sleep Out event is back in its original (in-person) version this Nov 17-18.
Sleep Out is not about pretending to be homeless but showing solidarity with those who are at-risk or experience homelessness. It's the chance to shine a light on the youth homelessness crisis and raise critical funds that help Covenant House provide young people with 24/7 support. The awareness and funds to be raised by individuals, corporations, organizations or anyone coming together translate to things like new sheets, computers, meals, and best-in-class care for youth overcoming homelessness.
The experience comes with opportunities to learn from experts, meaningfully advocate for an end to youth homelessness, amplify stories from people with lived experience being unstably housed, and be part of a unique community.
Are you giving up your bed for one night to express solidarity and ensure youth facing homelessness sleep safely at Covenant House Florida?

Beginning October 1st 2022, Covenant House Florida will serve, in its safe haven, youth ages 18-22 (including pregnant and parenting youth and their babies).
To comply and adapt to recent changes in Florida licensing regulation, CHF will not be able to offer shelter to unaccompanied minors under the age of 18.
In the meantime, CHF will do its best to help anyone in need connect with support services in the community that can provide a safe place. Please email CHF if someone you know would like information on other providers serving unaccompanied minors under the age of 18.
